MUMBAI: Priyanka Chopra has generated massive buzz online after sharing new behind-the-scenes photos with her Varanasi co-stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The actress, who is returning to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated epic, posted a heartfelt message calling it a privilege to work with the superstars and be part of the filmmaker’s ambitious vision.

Priyanka posted a series of photos on Instagram, including a cheerful selfie with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, followed by another picture of the trio posing together.

She also shared a snapshot with her long-time friend Tamanna Dutt. In her caption, Priyanka wrote, “Working with these two legends of the Telugu and Malayalam industries, and coming together for an SS Rajamouli film, is such a privilege.

Promoting our movie with the international media, alongside the cast and Rajamouli Sir, almost a year ahead of its release has been incredibly exhilarating.”

The film’s official page also shared the viral photos, describing them as “The faces of a story that’s about to travel the world,” hinting at Rajamouli’s signature grand-scale storytelling that appeals to international audiences.

In Varanasi, Priyanka Chopra plays Mandakini, while Prithviraj takes on the role of the formidable antagonist Kumbha.

Mahesh Babu stars as Rudhra, whose first look was unveiled at the GlobeTrotter event. The teaser introduced audiences to Rudhra in a striking visual, holding a blood-soaked trishul while riding a bull, exuding raw power.

The teaser also hinted at a time-travel element, with tags like #GlobeTrotter and #TimeTrotter creating intrigue.

The cast and production team have already begun early global promotions, highlighting the scale and ambition of Rajamouli’s next cinematic universe.

With a powerful trio at its centre and a visionary filmmaker steering the project, Varanasi is already shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of the coming year.
