MUMBAI: Cinema star Shah Rukh Khan delivered an emotionally charged address at the Global Peace Honours 2025 event in Mumbai, where he paid a solemn tribute to those affected by recent and past terror attacks.
His speech was a powerful blend of remembrance, respect for the armed forces, and a call for national harmony among all citizens.

The actor offered a moving tribute to the victims of the devastating 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the Pahalgam terror attack, and the more recent Delhi blasts.
He began his formal address by directly stating his purpose for the evening.
"My humble tribute to the innocent people who lost their lives in the 26/11 terrorist attack, the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and the recent Delhi blasts and my respectful salute to our brave security personnel who were martyred in these attacks," he stated, his measured tone reflecting the gravity of the tragic losses.
Khan then shared a special segment where he recited four powerful lines dedicated to the Indian soldiers, which resonated deeply with the audience.
The lines were written to capture the selfless spirit of the defence personnel. He recited: "When someone asks you what you do, say with pride that I protect the country.
If someone asks you how much you earn, smile slightly and say, I earn the blessings of 1.4 billion people. And if they turn around and ask you again, Aren't you ever afraid? Look them in the eye and say, Those who attack us feel it."
Moving beyond the individual tributes, Shah Rukh Khan utilised the prestigious platform, hosted by actor Vikrant Massey, to appeal for broader societal peace.
He urged the packed hall to rise above petty divisions. "Let us forget the caste, creed, and discrimination around us and walk the path of humanity so that the martyrdom of our heroes for the peace of our country is not in vain," he passionately requested.
The clip of his address quickly circulated online, drawing strong praise from viewers. One fan encapsulated the sentiment, writing, "Only Shah Rukh Khan can turn a stage into a message of unity, grace, compassion, and patriotism delivered with absolute dignity, and that's why he's called the King of Indian cinema."
The Global Peace Honours 2025 event aims to recognise acts of courage, with performers like Tiger Shroff doing special pieces for the martyrs, and other personalities, including Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar, joining in the tribute.
