MUMBAI: Saumya Tandon is a celebrated Indian actress and presenter, best known for her iconic portrayal of Anita Bhabhi in the long-running television sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Renowned for her vivacious and charming screen persona, Tandon has cultivated a strong following across both television and film.
Her recent decision to take on a role in the intense, high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar marks a significant departure from her typical work, challenging audience expectations.

Actress Saumya Tandon, who has drawn praise for her brief yet powerful role in Aditya Dhar's recent blockbuster film, Dhurandhar, has opened up about her rewarding experience on the set, particularly her time working with veteran star Akshaye Khanna.
Saumya, whose role in the ensemble cast is highly intense and a distinct shift from her previous light-hearted characters, revealed that taking on the project was primarily motivated by her desire to collaborate with the director, Aditya Dhar.
Speaking about her co-star Akshaye Khanna, who portrays the menacing gangster Rehman Dakait, Saumya shared her deep admiration.
"I am a huge admirer of Akshaye’s work," she confessed. "He is extremely magnetic when he is on the screen. It is actually quite a treat to watch him on the screen because he is just so underplayed. I mean, he is such a fantastic actor. So it was genuinely a delight to work with him."
For the actress, being cast opposite Akshaye was a special moment.
She added that playing his wife in the intense drama was a real "cherry on the top," as she "genuinely admires him.
"Saumya even offered a witty observation about Akshaye’s commanding presence, joking, "Akshaye is a complete scene-stealer, I'm honestly nervous about who will even look at me when he's in the frame!"
Beyond her scenes with Akshaye, Saumya also heaped praise on lead actor Ranveer Singh, calling his performance in the film his finest yet.
She acknowledged that the filming process was gruelling and commended the dedication and "2000 per cent" effort put in by both her leading men.
The film Dhurandhar is a high-octane Indian spy action-thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, starring Ranveer Singh as an Indian agent who goes deep undercover in the Karachi underworld.
Inspired by real-life geopolitical conflicts, the plot follows his mission, codenamed 'Operation Dhurandhar,' to dismantle a powerful terrorist-mafia nexus. The first part, released on December 5, 2025, also features a stellar cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
