I did not quit Punar Vivah; I was asked to take up other projects: Rubina Dilaik

Rubina Dilaik
“I am not hurt…but certainly disappointed,” are the words of Rubina Dilaik who recently realised that life is not at all a bed of roses. The charming and superbly talented actress has been around in the TV industry for quite some time now. She packed punchy performances in Zee TV shows, Choti Bahu season 1 and 2. Later, she was signed on by Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd for their ongoing show on Zee, Punar Vivah-Ek Nayi Umeed. Her character, Divya, was supposed to be the lead in the project. But things hit a roadblock when Divya was seen in the main montage of the show’s promos, but nowhere in the episodes that aired. “I have been flooded with mails from fans asking where I have been all this while. It’s been more than two weeks since Divya has been shown on screen. If I am the lead, then I should be there,” shared Rubina with Tellychakkar.com. As per media reports, Rubina is no longer a part of Punar Vivah. But she is upset with the fact that an article mentioned her “quitting” the project. She clarifies to her fans, “’Quitting’ is a wrong word. I did not quit. I went and asked the creatives when will my track re surface. They said not at least for the next 15-20 days. That would have meant me being out of sight for almost month and a half, and in TV, out of sight means out of mind. On top of that, they suggestively said if I get any other offer, I can take it up. This reflects that they were not clear with my track at all. Hence, maintaining my dignity, I asked them to give me a termination letter and they agreed to it.” Rubina is not a newcomer. How does she feel being ‘not treated properly’ in spite of being a seasoned actress? ‘Life mein kisi cheez ki guarantee nahin hain. But I think this episode has been the most beautiful experience in my acting career as I have learnt a lot. I let go many good offers as I was committed to Punar Vivah. Yes, I have nothing on my platter at this point of time, but soon I will take up a project and be back entertaining my fans. Whatever happened, I see is as an unfortunate incident and choose to move on.” Rubina…we wish you all the best and hope that you get back soon on the small screen.
