There's no fun in sanity: Vir Das

India’s best-know English stand-up comedian, Vir Das is really packing in some punch with his acting these days. With six of his movies lined up for release in the next 15 months, Vir has entered Bollywood in a big way. Some of his movies have really catchy names as well. Sample this - ‘Santa Banta’, ‘Amit Sahni Ki List’ and ‘Saxxx ki Dukaan.’ For a man, who is perennially busy with his gigs, to boast of so many films in his kitty is nothing short of phenomenal. And true to his onscreen persona, Vir says he needs to stay insane while trying to juggle multiple projects. “There’s no fun in sanity. Everyone around us is so serious, that I have taken it upon myself to make sure insanity prevails.” If his jokes are anything to go by, we are sure Vir’s presence will make everyone else around go insane. What, though, Vir has managed to do is pave way for stand-up comics in Bollywood, no other comedian has ever made inroads like Vir into movies and he could well be the torchbearer for other aspiring comedians. But we feel there is one man who could give Vir some stiff competition very soon. And he goes by the name of Kapil Sharma. Well, let’s wait and watch.
