I am not that wild in real life and nor do I play pranks on people - Sana Amin Sheikh

Sana Amin Sheikh
Sana Amin Sheikh who plays the vivacious Lajjo on Life OK’s Gustakh Dil (Ravi Ojha Productions) avers that her character will by no means turn out to be a submissive self-sacrificing woman who goes on forgiving her husband who is refusing to accept her as his wife but moping on his girlfriend instead. “You will surely not see her as a bechari aurat at all. I cannot say more as I will be revealing the story in the process.” What attracted her to the story? “The basic plot is about a very raw, rustic and bubbly girl who gets married to an educated and sophisticated Delhi guy who is so not her type. So what happens went two people who epitomise polar opposite worlds come together?” Whereas in Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai Ajab Sa Risk Hai (Siddhant Cinevision Limited) the protagonist Simran (Sukirti Kandpal) who is a up-town girl is trying hard to adjust to a traditional rustic family; Lajjo will have a tough time to fit into a chic Delhi family. When will sparks of love fly between them? “She will be good friends with her husband and enjoy this bonding. Ultimately they may fall in love.” Talking further on her character she says, “I found this role interesting. As far as my look is concerned I have retained my original curly hair and wear an adivasi sari. My character doesn’t care about her looks at all. She is a loud character.” Indeed her casual beauty outshines reminding us of Basanti (Hema Malini) in Sholay who was a beautiful village woman who loved horses whereas Lajjo loves cows. She added that in some ways she is quite different from her screen character. “I am not that wild in real life. Nor do I play pranks on people.” Sana has a Hindi tutor who teaches her to speak with the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh rustic accent. “He stays on the sets for twelve to thirteen hours to monitor my dialogues.” Sana has four legged co-stars- cows! Initially she was wary about shooting with the cows as she wasn’t familiar with them. “I lived in a row house as a part of a huge joint family, My cousin had about twenty five goats, I loved goat’s milk. I had requested the creatives if I could interact with goats instead of cows. That wasn’t possible as Lajjo’s best friend is a cow. I was afraid that the animal would chew my hand but it stamped on my foot instead. I was given first aid immediately and was assured that if the animal smelt my foot my pain would subside. Indeed that happened immediately once the sweet cow sniffed my foot.” Once Lajjo relocates to Delhi, animal lovers will surely miss her bovine pal.
