I am happy to share a live-in relationship with Ankita (Lokhande) - Sushant Singh Rajput

TV actor turned movie star, Sushant Singh Rajput is one of the very few actors who hasn’t shied away from making his relationship status official. The actor who has been in a steady relation with his co-star from his television days Ankita Lokhande (Pavitra Rishta), admitted that he is fine with the kind of relation he shares with his girlfriend. “Yes, I am in a live-in relationship with Ankita and I am fine about it. Both our parents are okay with our decision as well,” said the actor while addressing a seminar attended by young college students in Mumbai. The actor was part of a heated debate which focused on the issues that today’s youth deal with ranging from love to live-in relations. When asked why film stars turn into hypocrites when it comes to declaring their love status, Sushant said, “It’s a matter of one’s personal choice. Some may not be comfortable revealing who he or she is living – in with and we have to respect that. I never felt the need to hide my live-in relation.” Now, that would really place Sushant as an odd-man out from the current crop of actors. In an age where actors feel that revealing their relationship status would reduce their fan base, Sushant seems to have no such problem at all. On the contrary, he pooh-poohed any such notion by saying "I really don’t think about all this. In fact, I don’t want to be a star. I aspire to be just a good actor and if I do my job well, people will like me irrespective of my relationship status.” We have to say, to hear an actor who is seen as a youth icon, take a bold stand on issues like live-in, is really clap-worthy.
