It's difficult to make an impact with a cameo role - Siraj Mustafa

Siraj Mustafa
The very talented Siraj Mustafa impressed viewers with his various disguises as the assassin Basar Khan in Sony Entertainment Television’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra- Maharana Pratap (Contiloe Telefilms). With his character bidding goodbye to the show with his death, the actor talks to Tellychakkar.com about his experience. We first grilled him on why he chose a cameo, to which he replied, “The character was such a strong one that I had to grab it with both hands. With a chance of getting to play a variety of avatars in a short role was really interesting.” Adding further he says, “Making an impact with small parts are actually difficult. Unlike in regular shows where you have ample time to establish your character, in cameos you have to fly high from the start.” Talking about his character in Maharana Pratap, he says, “Basar Khan was a strong man who’s never been unsuccessful. The character had an awesome take off and I am glad that the wind up was equally action packed. The response I received for this role had been immensely positive.” So what next after Maharan Pratap? “I have a lineup of films coming up for which I will now dedicatedly start working. There is Charlie Ke Chakkar Mein with Naseeruddin Shah, Vikram Bhatt’s 1920- London, wherein I will be seen as an obsessive lover. I also have a film with Bipasha Basu. So I have a packed schedule ahead,” smiles the actor. Well, you definitely have your hands full Siraj, and we at Tellychakkar.com wish you more success in the future!!!
