The Lunchbox adjudged Best Film at the Amsterdam Film Fest

Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga’s The Lunchbox was adjudicated the Best Film by the audience at the Amsterdam Film Festival in its 2013 edition recently. The festival was held from 7 to 18 August, 2013. According to the official website of the festival, the Ritesh Batra-directed film won with as many as 4,396 votes, followed by international films like Gloria, Songs of Redemption, Le Passe and Het Geheim van Marinburg. Incidentally, the film also won Critics' Week Viewers Choice Award at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival held earlier this year. The movie, that stars Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will release in India on 20 September and in the Netherlands on 12 December.
