24 is not another TV show for me, it is a film on TV - Tisca Chopra

Tisca Chopra is back on TV after a long hiatus with Colors’ 24 where she plays Anil Kapoor’s character Jai Singh Rathore’s wife. She has a strained relationship with her husband and amidst this she and her daughter get kidnapped. Interestingly, Tisca who is known for her intense roles on-screen will be seen in a new avatar in this 24 episodes series show. She will be seen taking the gun in her hand and also shooting a few men. In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com she confessed that playing this character is indeed a dream come true. “I get to explore another side of me, and I am excited about it. I have always been in good shape, courtesy my urge to be fit and I get to utilize it now. You will catch me in action in this very show.” On working with Anil Kapoor she stated, “It’s been tremendous as he is unflagging in his energy and enthusiasm. He used to give me protein bars at 2 o’clock in the morning and say abhi poori raat baki hai, let’s work! There is this reason why he looks the way he looks. He has this intense focus and concentration upon the job on hand and he is constantly motivating everyone around. He has held my hand throughout as it’s been a bit challenging for me to work on this in comparison to films. Films are an easy pace of work.” “24 is like doing a film on TV. But when you have 8 to 9 intense scenes to shoot for in a day it takes a lot. After a few days you are exhausted but it is fun overall.” Talking about her exit from TV a few years ago she confessed, “I worked on shows like Sarkar, Astitva and Love Marriage but after that I had decided on not doing TV. It was a clear decision. 24 is not another TV show for me, it is a film on TV.” Why this decision? “I tend to do my best when it comes to work but on TV you have a monster who wants certain episodes and then your growth gets hampered. But when you have a show like 24 that has just 24 episodes you can be true to your character.” We just hope this turns out to be a ‘welcome’ comeback for you, Tisca!
