MasterChef Australia on Star World back with a Boys v/s Girls theme

MasterChef Australia
Star World is all set to bring back the most popular culinary show on television – MasterChef Australia from 10 September. The fifth season will for the first time start at the culinary capital of Australia – Melbourne. And this time it promises to be more interesting with its Boys v/s Girls theme. This season of MasterChef welcomes back restaurateur and Chef Gary Mehigan, Chef George Calombaris and food critic Matt Preston, the best known hosts and judges of the top known TV cooking series in the world. MasterChef’s veteran trio will be joined by a host of cooking luminaries, with guests such as Antonio Carluccio, Stephanie Alexander, Curtis Stone, Shannon Bennett, Maggie Beer and Guillaume Brahimi pushing the 22 contestants to elevate their game and hit food heights they never imagined. This time, it’s all about themed weeks in the MasterChef kitchen. The contestants go to boot camp in Barbosa and also get a chance to get in touch with their inner child in ‘kids’ week’. What’s more? They also go all white and green for Italian week. The show has Indian contestants, Rishi Desai and Neha Sen among some of the best amateur cooks who mix it up in a high-pressure test of know-how and nerve to win this crucial culinary battle. In the first episode, the two teams of eleven each (boys on one side and girls on the other), face their initial challenge; having to cook for their new families who are none other than the other team and the three judges. Each team gets a fixed amount of time to shop and plan their menu. Will it be a fairly even matched competition? Tune in to find out! And as they say let the culinary battle begin! Catch amateurs turning professional on MasterChef Australia that will air every Monday-Friday, 9 pm on Star World from 10 September 2013.
