Amitabh Bachchan to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata Film Festival

Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) that goes underway on 10 November (2013). This is the second consecutive year that the elder Bachchan will be inaugurating the prestigious festival. It may be remembered that last year Bachchan along with Shah Rukh Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Dev Adhikari and the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the festival. Announcing the same, the chief minister said, "I am very happy and delighted to share with you all that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10 November, 2013." The award ceremony would be attended by the Bachchan family including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. "I am also pleased and obliged to learn that he is making efforts to bring along with him Jayaji, Abhishek and Aishwarya to this global event. We are eagerly waiting to welcome the film family," Banerjee added.
