Sharman Joshi plays an army officer in War Chhod Na Yaar

Sharman Joshi, who was last seen in the last year release 3 Bachelors, is playing an army officer in War Chhod Na Yaar. War Chhod Na Yaar is India’s first war comedy written and directed by Faraz Haider who has assisted Dibakar Banerjee in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! Earlier, he had also assisted a German director. The film is satirical but thought-provoking one on the concept of war. Set in an Indo-Pak border post over the course of 24 hours, the film deals with some serious events in a very funny manner. It is said that for his role, the 3 Idiots actor made special preparations with his look to get a young captain’s look perfectly. Haider wanted Sharman to get a crew cut to make the character look real. Said Haider in appreciation of Sharman, “When I first narrated the script, Sharman got excited about donning a new look. Apart from working on his physique, I advised him to groom himself to look like a very authentic army man,” “He had long hair and I was concerned about his hairstyle because he had to carry a style similar to an army officer. After a few days, he called me to say that he is coming to meet me in my office. And when he came there I saw my hero standing in front of me with a perfect crew cut. All this showed his involvement with his character and the film,” he ended. War Chhod Na Yaar releases on 30 August (2013).
