Some relief for Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case

Salman Khan
Superstar Salman Khan received some much-wanted relief in the hit-and-run case yesterday from the Mumbai sessions court when it rejected the plea of social activist Santosh Daundkar seeking to intervene in Salman Khan’s 2002 hit-and-run case. The court dismissed Santosh’s plea on the grounds that only an aggrieved party, complainant or witness had a right to intervene. Santosh had also filed another plea seeking transfer of his complaint from magistrate court to Sessions court about perjury action against Salman and police for allegedly producing wrong witnesses in this case. The judge also dismissed this plea stating that court was not vested with the jurisdiction to transfer Santosh’s complaint. The judge asked Santosh to approach a higher court or the Principal Judge of Sessions Court in this regard. The court also refused to entertain activist Abha Singh's plea to assist the Public Prosecutor stating that the same could be considered only at the final arguments stage. We are sure this would put some smile back on the much worried star’s face.
