Filmmaker Raj Tilak has passed away; he was 73. He died of complications that developed after a spine surgery.
Known for having produced films like 36 Ghante, Mukti, Chehre Pe Chehra and Tumhare Liye in the 70s and 80s, Raj Tilak was a noted film personality having attended many national and international film events.
The filmmaker, who is credited to having worked with stars including Shashi Kapoor, Raaj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Mala Sinha, Rekha and Parveen Babi, happens to be the son-in-law of the late B R Chopra.
According to his son Vishal, Tilak was suffering from back pain since the last few months. And after he underwent a spine surgery, he developed a severe infection (septicemia). He was in the ICU when he passed away on Monday.
Raj's funeral was attended by Manmohan Shetty and TV producer and Producers Guild Treasurer Manish Goswami among a lot others including his family members.
