So all of us thought that Mithun Chakroborthy was Akshay Kumar’s lucky mascot till now. And the thought was a safe one to assume given the fact that Mithun has starred in back-to-back hit films of Akshay Kumar namely Housefull 2, OMG Oh My God, Khiladi 786. But when we asked Akshay on who he thinks his lucky mascot is, the name that Akshay came up with surprised us a bit. It was none other than yesteryear villain Danny Denzongpa.
Speaking in glowing terms about the veteran actor, Akshay nostalgically remembered his very first association with Danny that changed his life for good.
“When I was looking for my first office, it was Danny Denzongpa who came up and offered me his office. And it’s only after purchasing that office from him that I started moving ahead in my career and life. I consider him a very lucky man for me and always try to see if I can be like him,” narrated Akshay.
The superstar also waxed eloquent about Danny’s youthful looks. “Even at this age, he looks like a 25 year old and has the enthusiasm of a young boy. It’s just unbelievable,” said Akshay.
Danny Denzongpa who was once known for his prolific villainous roles in Hindi movies has now turned extremely choosy and works at his pace and wishes. Throwing some light on his work ethics, Akshay said, “Danny works according to his rules. If he says he won’t work for four months, trust me he will not. And I respect the fact that he likes to work in his own way that he has chosen for himself. Not to forget he is also an adventure freak. He loves going on treks and playing his flute occasionally.”
Well, there is no doubt that Indian cinema today, misses the imposing screen presence one of its most feared villain. But thanks to Akshay, aficionados will soon get to see Danny playing a pivotal positive role in Boss. Be ready to get wowed by Danny again.
