Popular VJ Rannvijay Singha’s younger brother Harmanjeet Singha is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Bobby Bedi and N.P.Singh's Mango. The movie will be directed by Abbas Tyrewala of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame.
Mango is a youth centric movie and will see Harmanjeet playing the role of an investment banker-turned-shack owner in Goa. Talking about how he landed the film, Harmanjeet says, "I became an actor by chance, it wasn't something I had planned. Abbas who was making Mango was looking to cast someone for the film. He knew Rannvijay and I happened to meet him during one of our meetings. He casually asked me to come and audition for his film. I didn't think he was being serious, but I went ahead and got myself a role in the film. It was that simple!”
Heaping praise on the director, Harmanjeet credits him of having not only discovered the actor within him but also having groomed and taught him the intricacies and nuances of acting. “I am really lucky to be making my debut with Abbas Tyrewala," says the 25-year old debutant.
Director Abbas who is credited for having given Imran Khan a wonderful debut movie speaks highly about his latest find Harmanjeet. “I have worked with fresh faces earlier and Harmanjeet has a wonderful combination of confidence and innocence. I think he has a very promising career ahead as an actor,” said Abbas.
Abbas has plans to release Mango ahead of its usual season next year. Let’s see how sweet this Mango would be to see and taste.
