Revealed: How Ram Gopal Varma met his new actress of Satya 2 - Anaika Soti

Anaika Soti
From the sexy Urmila Matondkar to the late Jiah Khan, Ramu has always been credited for introducing timeless beauties whose raw sensuality have made men drool with lust and women go green with envy. In his last franchise on the underworld-Satya 2 – Ramu is all set to give Bollywood yet another young pretty face – Anaika Soti. All of 19, Anaika plays the female lead in the movie. And being Ram Gopal Varma’s find, it goes without saying that she is incredibly pretty. How Ramu spotted her for the first time is an interesting story in itself. One day Anaika was accompanying a friend of hers to the office of music director Sandeep Chowta with whom her friend had some business. While waiting for the lift, Ram Gopal Varma arrived in the building lobby. Immediately on spotting Anaika, Ramu walked up to her and introduced himself. “Hi, I am RGV. Are you an actress, by any chance?” Now, although Ramu’s face looked familiar to Anaika, she couldn’t place a name to his face. Unaware of whom she was talking to, Anaika told Ramu that she is not an actress hearing which Ramu departed immediately. As soon as the director left, Anaika’s friend told her that RGV was an abbreviated form of Ram Gopal Varma, the famous director, the man she had just said “no” to. To Anaika’s good luck, Ramu later on sent a message through Anaika’s friend asking her to meet him at his office to discuss an offer. Anaika, who was miles away from the glamour industry at that time, was unsure about becoming an actress and consulted her mother. Her mother who is a die-hard fan of Satya decided it would be wise to meet and talk to RGV himself and landed up at his office along with Anaika. Here, Ramu told Anaika that he was looking out for an actress to play the female lead in Satya 2 and Anaika suited the role to a T and he would like to cast her. Although Anaika’s mother had apprehensions of letting her daughter act owing to her young age, after talking to Ramu and going through the role, she felt it was the perfect launch pad for her daughter. And the rest, as they say, is history today. With Satya 2 slated to hit the screens, next week, Anaika is both excited and nervous. Given that Satya was a hugely successful franchise and film that will always be a part of movie folklore, Anaika knows that the stakes are pretty high this time. But regardless of the outcome of Satya 2, there is one thing that will never change for Anaika and that is her gratitude for RGV. “I will never forget RGV sir, the man who gave me my first big break,” shared Anaika with us. Now that’s a mentor RGV will be proud of, we think.
