Aditya Roy Kapoor replaces Sushant Singh Rajput in Fitoor

One man’s loss is another’s gain. Following up with our story on Sushant Singh Rajput’s exit from Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor, here is some more breaking news. There are reports now emerging that the dates of the film were postponed deliberately to clash with the dates of Sushant’s other film Paani. Finally, Sushant was left with no other option but to opt out of the movie. Now what’s interesting to note here is how Sushant gets booted out the moment the production house changes hands. Earlier Fitoor was being produced by Balaji and was slated to go on floors this month. But with Balaji abandoning it, UTV took the responsibility of helming its affairs. As soon as UTV comes onboard, Sushant gets promptly replaced by Aditya Roy Kapoor who happens to be UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapoor’s younger brother. Sushant who was eagerly waiting for the movie to start in August this year was told that the script was being changed and shooting would begin in October. On enquiring again this month, the actor was told that the shoot would now start next year in the month of July as Katrina Kaif (who is the female lead) would be free during that time and the actor was asked to give dates for that month. Unfortunately, Sushant didn’t have any dates to spare as Shekhar Kapur’s Paani will go on floors in July next year. It is believed that Sushant met Abhishek and requested him to shift the shooting of the film to October next year so that it would be possible for him to allot dates. But Abhishek reportedly told him that they had finalized July as Katrina Kaif had already given her dates. Eventually, Sushant had no option but to bow out of the movie. It is also believed that an announcement will soon be made by UTV sometime next week. One can’t help but wonder at the decision of replacing Sushant with Aditya, the moment UTV gets on board as the producer. Does Siddharth Roy Kapoor have a hand in helping his younger brother get a role? Or is it just sheer coincidence. Only time will tell.
