Indira Krishnan famous for her ‘Krishnagiri’ in her last show Krishnaben Khakhrawala on Sony Entertainment Television has been away from the small screen space for some time now. However, the talented actress is all set to get back with Sahara One’s upcoming show Firangi Bahu, produced by Optimystix Entertainment.
The actress is excited no doubt, on bagging the role. But she seems to be doubly excited about losing oodles of weight to get into shape.
Talking about her weight loss regime, the actress told us, “Well, I have lost nearly 11 kgs in the last few months. I am actually half of what I used to be (smiles). Actually after Krishnaben Khakhrawala, I entered a phase wherein I did not like the roles I was being offered. So I thought of keeping myself busy by getting my body back to shape. I started on a strict diet program, and stopped eating outside. It has been months since I ate out. I have only home-cooked food. I go for a walk every day, and hit the gym very regularly. I also engage myself in yoga during day time and all this has helped me get better in appearance.”
Indira who will be playing the saas of the Firangi Bahu in Sahara One’s new show said, “Well, I will be playing a very young saas, and I am all set to give a tough competition to my Firangi Bahu (smiles). I will be seen in a different avatar too. Though I can’t help putting my hair in a bun, I will be seen wearing georgette sarees. This is a very interesting role, and I am excited to be part of the show.”
The versatile actress has yet another reason to feel happy as she has just finished shooting for her maiden Hindi film titled ‘Pistol’ wherein she plays mother to Sonakshi Sinha. “When I got this major break in the movie of A R Murugadoss, I grabbed it with both hands. In fact, this is the first time I shot after going through the weight loss program.”
She has not worked with Sahara One till now, and is looking forward to this opportunity. “There were many friends of mine who were stunned to see me accept a Sahara One offer. But I have never considered any channel as high or low. For me, work is what matters. This is a huge show for Sahara One, and I wish them all the luck.”
We are looking forward to seeing you in this role, Indira.
