I am repenting for not bringing in a comedy show for this long on Zee TV: Ajay Bhalwankar

After a ten-year hiatus, Zee TV is bringing in a comedy show with JD Majethia’s Bh Se Bhade which will air from 26 October 2013. Yes, you heard it right, a channel that made comedy shows like Filmi Chakkar, Gubbare, Hum Paanch and Ghar Jamai stayed away from the genre for a long time. And Ajay Bhalwankar, Content Head, Hindi GECs, Zeel regrets it in full. “I am repenting for not bringing in a comedy show for this long. It’s so much of fun to work on a show like Bh Se Bhade,” said the honcho. “In my earlier stint, I have done comedy, but not in Hindi so far. Comedy de-stresses you especially when you’re reading the screenplays,” he added. Ask him what took him so long and he averred, “So far, we were concentrating on soaps and now that our daily soap lineup is pretty full, we have started strengthening our weekend slots.” Bhalwankar also admitted that with Dance India Dance 4 and Bh Se Bhade airing this Saturday, their weekend programming too will be full. Looks like Zee TV is all set to fight it big at the the GVT battle!!!
