Returning to TV and playing a central character after two years, the beautiful Neha Marda looked exuberant at the launch of her show Doli Armaanon Ki on Zee TV.
Produced by Pearl Grey’s Spellbound Production, the show will have the actress playing Urmi a young girl based in Jhansi who has million dreams related to her wedding.
Talking to Tellychakkar.com, the girl chirps, “This is the best comeback I could have made with the character being very similar to me and especially the situations. Having got married recently, I can completely relate to Urmi who has been dreaming about her fairytale marriage all her life and her expectations from the same.”
“My parents had given me full freedom to study, be in a profession I wanted to be in but they always desired that they find a match for me. And I did fulfill their wish by opting for an arranged marriage. Similarly, Urmi too is happy and satisfied with her arranged alliance but then how her life changes after having got a husband contrary to her thinking and how she stands up for her rights and happiness is for the viewers to see,” shares Neha.
On asking what kept her away from the screen for so long, she smilingly answers, “I was happily enjoying my break but then my husband and mom-in-law suggested me that I should start working lest I start feeling depressed in some years that I missed on a lot of opportunities that came my way.”
“I did have a couple of offers and also did some cameos in between, but I was sure that I wanted to be in only the leading GECs and that too in a very good role. This show is my jackpot with everything falling so perfectly. I am really thankful to Pearl to have me as Urmi on Doli Armaanon Ki,” observes Neha.
Speaking about the institution of marriage, the girl who rose to fame with her act in Balika Vadhu as Gehna avers, “I still believe in the old philosophy of a girl leaving her house in a doli and her in-laws house in her arthi. I think things change for the better after marriage with a partner coming in your life. Every girl has loads of dreams about her marriage and I am thankful that I am living them all in my life.”
“I was always clear that I want a family who will love and understand me as much as my parents have and I was lucky to have got them. Ayushman (Neha’s husband) is a business man based in Patna, and I enjoyed my two years as a wife and bahu there completely. My mother-in law is very supporting and almost a friend to me and all I can say is that if not for them, my career would have just come to an end after marriage. But it was them who told me to do what I do best and love the most,” she happily maintains.
Neha also blushes while talking about her life post marriage. “It has become all the more luxurious. I am still allowed to be a brat and given the liberty to shop without hold. Also, I never thought that I would get the chance of holidaying every two months on foreign locales. So it is definitely a great change (laughs),” she says with twinkle in her eyes.
Well Neha, we at Tellychakkar.com welcome you back on television and wish you all the best Doli Armaanon Ki!!!
