You too are invited!

This will be the first wedding on Indian television where the entire nation has been invited. Archana (Ankita Lokhande) who had been facing marital rebuttals all along has finally found a groom. Archana will now wed Manav (Sushant Singh Rajput) in the mother of all weddings on the small screen. The channel and the production house is leaving no stone unturned to make the affair grand and thus has invited the whole of India to bless the couple. Archana’s mother Sulochana (Savita Prabhune) has been personally handing over the invitation cards to commuters of local trains and residents of various localities. The response was so huge that the residents of a chawl performed the traditional Otee (a good luck gift given to married women) ritual. A huge set has been erected at R.K. Studios, Chembur and the wedding will take place on 25 July. Says a source, “This is a grand affair and we have invited the entire nation to come and bless the couple. I think it is a very smart move from the channel’s end and will certainly create the required hype. We have already started getting motivating feedback.” According to the channel more than 50000 SMS have been received in response to the channel’s invitation to its viewers for attending the wedding within three days. Fans will be travelling from cities llike Pune, Nasik, Indore, Delhi, Kanpur, Amritsar, Lucknow and Rajkot to bless the newly weds. Several devotees from Ganesh temples which Sulochana frequently visited to offer prayers for finding a suitable match for Archana have also been invited. Nitin Vaidya, COO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. and Business Head, Zee TV, said, “Archana’s wedding is one of the high-points of the show and we wanted our audiences to be a part of it. Hence creating an on-ground event of the wedding was the best way to directly connect with our viewers.” The wedding will also see a huge participation of Zee TV artists and live performances by the participants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs and Dance India Dance. Apart from this, the show’s producer, Ekta Kapoor herself visited Pune’s Dagru Seth Halwai temple to seek blessings for Archana’s wedding.
