Like my character Sakshi, I too have the guts to call a spade a spade: Krystle D'souza

Krystle Dsouza
The very beautiful Krystle D'souza, who is all geared up for her show Ekk Nayi Pehchaan (Jay Mehta and Kinnari Mehta Productions) on Sony Entertainment Television, is excited about playing a Gujarati girl Sakshi who will be the driving force for her mother-in-law (played by Poonam Dhillon) to take up education. We caught up with this lovely girl at the press launch recently and got her talking about her show, character and a lot more. “I am playing this sweet and innocent young girl who thinks more from her heart than her mind. She is a complete jhalli but has a pure heart and is always ready to help others. She is today’s girl and reacts to situations differently like anyone of us will do today.” “I actually relate to this character a lot and so the role is very close to my heart. Although I don’t go on giving lectures to people (laughs) but I similarly always fight for the right and have the guts and strength to call a spade a spade. It’s a really fast pacy show and has all real characters. I am sure people are going to love the show,” she quips. Talking more about her show, Krystle says, “It’s about two women bonding and teaching each other something. Interestingly it is not a love story and not even the usual saas-bahu saga; it’s about these two finding companionship in each other as friends.” When asked at a time when reality shows and mirch masala of overtly dramatic show rule the roost, is she confident that her plain Jane show will work? “Well, after any heavy and spicy meal you always want a dessert (winks). Our show will act as that positivity factor amidst so much of heavy drama.” Krystle also informed that she shares a similar bond with her mother in real life where they both share a very close and special bond. “My mom is well educated and is always teaching me values and its all thanks to their upbringing that I am doing well today in life. As for her, I help her become tech savvy, helping her work with the latest phones and apps.” So what changes do we see in her from her earlier avatar of Jeevika in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna? “Well a lot. Jeevika was a coy and sweet girl; Sakshi has a lot of spunk and is always smiling. I am not that good an actor so I have actually started behaving like Sakshi in real life. I talk a lot these days and use my hands more while talking. I have simply forgotten how to blush,” she said with a broad smile. And finally any plans of taking up reality shows? “Well, I like watching all the reality shows and it’s always nice to see your friends putting so much effort in their acts. As for Bigg Boss, I only like Heaven in the show; I don’t think I can stay with so many haivans (devils). I haven’t been brought up where I can shout so much, so if it’s just for a month, I’ll be fine,” she averred with a smile. Well girl, till then all the best for your show.
