Rasika Joshi and Swapnil Joshi win at MIFTA

Rasika Joshi gets the Best Actress award at MIFTA while Swapnil Joshi took home the honours in the ‘comic’ category. A source says, “The Marathi International Film and Theater Awards (MIFTA) are the first Marathi international awards ever. Mahesh Manjrekar is the founder. The awards were held yesterday in Dubai where Rasika Joshi won the Best Actress recognition and Swapnil won the Best Actor in comic role. Rasika Joshi’s husband Girish Joshi won the Best Director award. Rasika is currently doing Bandini and Swapnil is doing Papad Pol. The awards were held on the basis of theatre and film work done by actors for the last three years including 2010.” Rasika said, “I am very much thrilled as this is my first Marathi overseas award. I feel proud as such a senior person like Maheshji is doing the awards. It’s very encouraging.” Swapnil confirmed the same and said, “Yes I won it for my movie Mumbai Pune Mumbai.”
