Sanjay Dutt's parole extended by another month

Actor Sanjay Dutt got his parole extended by a further period of one month to tend his ill-wife Manyata who is currently in hospital. Manyata who had taken ill last month had underwent an emergency operation to remove water from her lungs. Sanjay whose second parole leave was slated to get over today was granted another month's extension by Pune Divisional Commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh so that the actor could attend his ill-wife. Sanjay is said to be immensely stressed at the moment and even his little kids have not been able to see their mom owing to the hospital's 'no child visitors' policy. Sanjay had applied for his second parole in the month of December when he was informed about his wife's illness. Though a lot of hue and cry was created, the jail authorities finally sanctioned Sanjay's second parole for a month. The 53- year old actor is currently serving a 42 month term of imprisonment for possessing sophisticated firearms during 1993 Mumbai riots.
