Imtiaz Ali elated about Highway being screened at Berlin fest

Director Imtiaz Ali is currently on cloud nine with the news that his upcoming film Highway has been selected to be screened at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. The film will have its world premiere at the film fest’s Panorama section. Averred Ali, who has earlier directed three glorifying hits like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar, “I felt that only efficient and creative filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap can go to film festivals and to these glamorous cities. This is the first time that a film of mine has been invited to a festival.” The director was talking at the promotion of Highway in Delhi. “It is the first for me, first for Alia (Bhatt) and people around me are very excited. Frankly this movie was not made for hitting the festival but it is there and I hope it opens doors for other filmmakers as well,” the director added. Highway, which will release on 21 February, stars Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt in the lead.
