I enjoyed every moment shooting for Beintehaa - Wasim Faras

Wasim Faras
The good-looking Wasim Faras, who essayed the role of Zeeshan in Colors’ new show Beintehaa (Fortune Productions), is simply excited with the kind of response that he has bagged from fans. The actor who has earlier been part of Kasamh Se post its leap was keeping himself busy with his modelling assignments when he got called for an audition for Beintehaa. “I did not wish to get back to TV. But the sudden call, that too from such a fabulous production house made me change my mind. Actually, I auditioned for Farhad’s (Zain’s brother) role, but later got selected to play Zeeshan. I was more than happy to accept it,” states the actor. And on the reason for his comeback to TV, Wasim explains, “See, TV today has changed a lot and has become a very strong medium. Earlier people had a notion that if you do TV, you will not be able to get films. But today that barrier has gone and Bollywood accepts TV actors most willingly and judges them only on their performance.” But why take up a cameo as his comeback vehicle? “It may be a cameo, but it’s quite a strong character. Also getting to play a role with so many shades is a challenge and I really enjoyed every moment of it. Zeeshan may look negative but he is not bad. The dowry demands are made by his parents, and he is just reacting because of the way he was treated by Aaliya earlier.” Wasim finds it really easy to shoot for the Muslim background show as he has grown up in the same culture. And the guy is elated with the kind of love that his hometown Kolhapur has showered on him. “I am thankful to all my family and friends in Kolhapur for all the love and adulation. The people there are so sweet that they used to follow the episodes and send me an instant feedback. I never thought the character will get so much popularity that people all over the world would send me messages and wishes. It’s such a good feeling, and funnily they say I look very sweet on screen playing a grey character (laughs).” He is also thankful to the team for the support he has got as he shares, “Naved Sir (Aslam) and Rituraj Sir were very helpful. They gave us many tips and even shared their experiences with us. I am really thankful to have taken up Beintehaa. Now that my stint is over, I will go back home and enjoy for a while and then get back to look for work.” We wish you the best, Wasim.
