Swastika Mukherjee to star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in YRF's Byomkesh Bakshi

Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee, who was last seen in the Prosenjit Chatterjee-starrer Jatishwar has been signed opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Dibakar Banerjee's upcoming film Byomkesh Bakshi that is being shot in Kolkata. Swastika will be playing the role of Satyabati wife of Byomkesh Bakshi in the popular detective series that Dibakar has bought the rights for. This is the first time Swastika would feature in a Hindi film and that too under the Yash Raj Banner. Set in 1942, the film, starring Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh, will show a war-torn Kolkata during the '40s as it follows the first adventure of Byomkesh who is fresh out of college. The announcement of the franchise with Sushant did create a buzz about Byomkesh Bakshi and now with inclusion of Swastika, the anticipation has just grown further. The film is scheduled to release by the end of this year.
