Shah Rukh Khan denied passport to be at the Cannes Film Festival

Shah Rukh Khan, who was eager to promote Happy New Year at the Cannes film festival this May, has been denied a passport to visit the country hosting the prestigious event. The movie is scheduled for an April release. With this, the producer (Gauri Khan) has been left in a quandary as to what can be done with the festival fast approaching. She has even taken this matter to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Regional Passport officer to obtain a new passport for Shah Rukh. It seems even the authorities are breaking their heads to find a way to get the reputed actor a passport at the earliest possible time. Right now the actor is in a dejected mood as his movie promotion might get affected in the process. Happy New Year will have Khan playing a complex role though in a subtle manner. So much so that the actor holds the film very close to his heart.
