Gunjan (Utreja) is a nice person to work with, and Drashti (Dhami) is my Gujju sister on the set of Madhubala - Fenil Umrigar

Fenil Umrigar
The gorgeous-looking Fenil Umrigar, who started her career with Maryada – Lekin Kab Tab?, has gone on to take up interesting roles through her projects Saubhagyavati Bhava, Best Friends Forever and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The actress presently essays the role of the positive Ayesha in Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. Fenil took this conscious decision of associating with Colors, as she had not worked with the channel before. Says Fenil, “I was earlier approached by Nautanki Films for Rangrasiya. But before anything could get confirmed, I was offered another meaty role by the same production house, for the already successful show Madhubala. At the same time, I was offered the lead role for an upcoming SAB TV show, but I chose to play the parallel lead on Colors as I wanted to be associated with the channel.” Talking about her character of Ayesha, the actress avers, “Ayesha is a very tactful and smart girl. She is very positive, and shares a close relationship with her brother Abhay Kapoor (Gunjan Utreja) and Bebe (Neelu Kohli). She also enjoys a nice filmy relationship with her parents. Going ahead, the girl will have a track with Madhu’s brother Sunny. She will be shown having an air of her brother Abhay Kapoor being a super star. I am enjoying working with the cast and crew. It is like a family on sets.” On her off-screen rapport with the leads, Gunjan and Drashti, the actress tells us, “Aah, Gunjan is a very nice person. We share a very good rapport. And Drashti is my Gujju sister on the sets, and we keep conversing in Gujarati whenever we are together (smiles).” Fenil after moving out from the role of Pihu in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, was away from TV for a few months. However, her shoot for ads kept her busy. “I do not regret quitting Bade Acche. I am just 21 years old, and have a long road ahead. I want to experiment with the roles I get, and work hard to be known as a good performer. Even earlier, I was approached by Nautanki Films, but I could not take up their shows. I am now glad to be working with them.” For Fenil, her first major critic is her mother, and she will be the happiest on the day when she gets a compliment for her acting from her mother. “I have done quite a lot of shows in these two and half years journey on TV, but I have never been complimented by my mother. She always has one or the other problem with my scenes. I hope the day comes soon, when she will appreciate me for my acting.” The girl might still be very young for marriage but she is definitely not single. Fenil actually fell in love when she was in school. “I have been dating a guy for the past five years. He is not from the industry, and was my tuition friend during my schooling days. We are very happy with our relationship, and have given each other the mutual space to settle professionally.” Ask her about wedding bells, and she says, “As I told you, I have a long way to go when it comes to acting. So wedding is not on cards for the next 7-8 years.” Fenil, we hope you have a fabulous future!!
