Ragini MMS 2 or Lakshmi: Which one will you prefer watching?

All of a sudden there seems to be a mad rush of women-centric movies at the box-office. It all started with Queen and Gulaab Gang releasing on the same day. While the former hit the bull’s eye and still continues to run strong, the latter sank without much of a trace. Today, two more women-centric movies are slated to lock horns at the box-office. While one hand, there is Nagesh Kukunoor’s Lakshmi, on the other it is the buzzing Sunny Leone’s Ragini MMS 2. Though sex is the common element that links these two movies, both are set in different milieu and as for now the dice seems to be heavily loaded in favour of Ragini MMS 2 all because of Sunny Leone. The busty beauty is also sparing no effort and has virtually gone all out in promoting her movie. Apart from visiting malls, Sunny will also tour single screen theaters like Gaiety, Regal and New Excelsior in Mumbai. Looks like Sunny is pulling all stops in making sure her last erotic thriller is a hit. Lakshmi, on the other hand, showcases the plight of a 14 year old girl who was forced into prostitution and how she later frees herself from her captors. The movie will see singer Monali Thakur making her debut as the teenage Lakshmi. Those who have seen the movie can’t stop raving about the direction and the way the harsh realities and despicable conditions have been portrayed on screen by Monali. So while more power is being given to women in films these days, it remains to be seen which one the audience will take a liking towards. Lakshmi or Ragini MMS 2?
