Deepak Dobriyal plays Arvind Kejriwal

Deepak Dobriyal
Very talented Deepak Dobriyal is all set to be seen in a role closely modelled on Arvind Kejriwal. In a political satire entitled Lollypop Since 1947 Dobriyal has been cast as an aam aadmi who becomes a political force to reckon with. Says Dobriyal, “I play a salesman who becomes a member of the parliament. It’s role that every supporter of Kejriwalji would immediately recognize.” Dobriyal who went through a ghastly eye accident last year says the role required immense preparation specially since it’s directed by a member of a political family. It’s directed by Anirudh Chautala who is the former Haryana chief minister Devi Lal’s grandson. Says Dobriyal, “The film has a very clear wake-up message for the masses. Very close to what Arvind Kejriwalji has attempted to put forward.” Next, Deepak goes into Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo where the actor says he has a substantial role. “Salman Bhai’s company is lucky for me. I had just a few scenes with him Dabangg 2. Commuters to this day stop my car at the traffic signal and call out for me with my name ‘Gainda Bhai’ from Dabangg 2.” Apparently Salman was so impressed by Deepak during the shooting of Dabangg 2 that he wanted Deepak’s role extended. Laughs the actor, “But we had already shot my closing scene in Dabangg 2 where I get my head shaved off. So I couldn’t shoot more. But this time in Soorajji’s film I’ll have a lot more scenes to shoot with Salman bhai.”
