The show has been on air for barely a week but Star Plus' Bidaai has witnessed its first death. Noted actor Mahesh Thakur, who plays Kishenchand, will no longer be seen on the show.
Speaking on this turn of events, Mahesh says, "My character Kishenchand will die and I assure you there will be no reincarnation. I was roped into play a cameo only. Kishenchand, who plays father to Sadhna (Saraha Khan), dies in a plane crash. This is the big twist in the tale. What will happen to his daughter? Will she be able to fulfill her father's dream of bidaai? For that you have to keep watching the show."
Was it appropriate for a seasoned actor like him to feature in a cameo? Mahesh replies, "Rajan Sahi is the reason that I chose to play this cameo. I have worked with him in the past and have seen him grow from assistance director to director and now as a producer. He wanted me to play a short role and hence I couldn't refuse him. Also, my presence is somewhat like a blessing for him."
He's done with Bidaai but the actor has signed a new show. "I'm doing a daily show called Jiya Jale for 9X. The channel will launch on November 5. My show will go on air from the 12th. Natasha Sinha plays my better half. We'll be parenting one of the lead characters" quips the actor.
Let's hope there's no heart burn for Mahesh on Jiya Jale.
