As the IIFA awards ceremony gets nearer, some news has started trickling out. The first is that veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha will be presented with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award for his outstanding contribution to cinema. This was announced by filmmaker Ramesh Sippy who happens to be on the advisory board of IIFA awards. The veteran actor, who started his film career playing a Pakistani Muslim officer, has acted in several notable films including Mere Apne, Kalicharan, Bombay to Goa, Shirdi Ke Sai Baba and Khudgarz among many others, has been especially known for his unique style of dialogue delivery. The other news is that like last year, this year too Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar will be hosting the IIFA awards. Said Shahid, “I am very much excited to host the IIFA awards ceremony with Farhan again. He comes with good content which is fantastic. We had lots of fun. I am looking forward to go to Tampa Bay.” Commented Farhan, “It feels great to be back as a host. We have got good response as a host previously. I am thankful and fortunate to be part of IIFA family.” The IIFA awards ceremony will be held at Tampa Bay, Florida in the US, between 23 and 26 April, 2014.
