Television stars want India to get home the ICC World T20 trophy
Cricket, that’s treated as religion in India, is one celebrated game that has the world go gaga over it. And with the ICC T20 World Cup tournament on, which has reached its final stage, people have gone ecstatic all over. Last night India stormed into the final of the ongoing tournament after it beat South Africa by six-wickets and are waiting to play tomorrow’s final match against Sri Lanka with a hope to win. Knowing fairly well that the citizens of the two nations will shout and cheer for their respective teams, our Indian television celebrities come out in the open to express their over-flowing excitement for the match and air their views on the same. Excerpts: Piyush Sahdev: It is always very exciting to watch India especially when they play in the final of any tournament. Though Sri Lanka has a strong team, but I am sure India will come through to win the trophy with flying colours. Though I generally don’t miss a match, I don’t think that I will be able to see the match as I will be shooting tomorrow. It has always been a practice when I watch a cricket match final with my family my wife cooks special snacks for us. This makes the viewing experience more pleasurable and enjoyable. This time around, if I do not get a chance to spend time with my family, I will be watching it on my phone through Star Sports’ live feed app. Aakanksha Singh: I am not much of a cricket buff, but yes this is the T20 final and I am really keen to watch it. Though I am not extremely excited but I hope that India wins the match. Abhaas Mehta: I am very excited to watch the match on television tomorrow; after all it is the T20 World Cup final. But the sad part is that it would be again an India-Sri Lanka final. I had wished that we would play against another team probably the West Indies…but alas. With regards to tomorrow’s match, the chances of India winning are good and I am indeed super excited. Sara Khan: I hope India wins the final match tomorrow. But as of now I am sad because our team (Soorma Bhopali) lost against Mumbai Mastram in the BCL Tournament yesterday. Though we lost we have taken it in a good spirit. I doubt whether I will be able to watch the match tomorrow but I truly support India and hope that Team India will win the match and give us one good reason to rejoice. Samir Soni: Tomorrow some of my friends, who have taken a time off from shooting, will come over to my place after which we will enjoy the match together over some pizzas. I really hope India brings home the trophy. Rucha Hasabnis: I am very excited to watch the India-Sri Lanka T20 final match. I have always been a fan of cricket and though I have not got enough time to watch the cricket league every day because of my tight shooting schedule, I have made arrangements to see the match on the sets tomorrow. I am not going to miss out on the finals for sure and will cheer for India. Jay Soni: I am very excited to watch India play in the final and want the team to win the match. As a matter of fact, I have planned to go out someplace along with my wife where the finale would be telecast. Tina Dutta: I am super excited and want India to win the final tomorrow. I wish I could watch the match but since I will be shooting tomorrow, would not be able to do so.
