Megan Fox to star opposite Akshay Kumar in Shaukeen remake

Hollywood actress Megan Fox will make her debut in Bollywood with the Shaukeen remake in which she is to be paired opposite Akshay Kumar. The film produced by Akshay Kumar will be directed by Abhishek Sharma, known for Tere Bin Laden. According to insiders, Kumar has confirmed that he has signed the actress and is quite happy with the decision. It is also understood that Kumar and Sharma travelled to Los Angeles to sign the actress for their film. Said a source, "It isn't a forced casting at all, in fact she (Megan) fits the role perfectly. The girl's role is of an Anglo-Indian who speaks with a thick accent. And that's why Megan is extremely suitable for the role." Interestingly the names of lot many actresses like Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Hayden and Shraddha Kapoor had popped out to play Rati Agnihotri’s character. Incidentally Basu Chatterjee's 1982 made Shaukeen that stared Mithun and Rati Agnihotri was a blockbuster. The film had Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal as those elderly men attracted to the much-younger Rati Agnihotri. In the new film the same characters would be reprised by Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher.
