Last week, Shakti Kapoor invoked the ire of other contestants after he was allowed to perform without his ailing wife Shivangi on Nach Bailye 3. Her condition hardly improved so he was left to dance alone. So, to avoid any controversies, Shakti has opted out of the reality show.
"I want to make it clear that we weren't eliminated but we chose to opt out. Shivangi's back is still hurting and I'm no longer enjoying dancing without her. It was a collective decision," says Shakti.

He adds further, "I briefed all the three judges and they agreed to it. Also, my dancing with choreographer wasn't fair to other participants. However, not all is lost for us. When Shivangi recovers, I'm sure we'll return to the show via a wild card episode."
For the second week, NB 3 was forced to bend its rules for Shakti. Now that he himself has opted out, other contestants echo their views on this sporting gesture of the Bollywood baddie.
"I'm very fond of Shaktiji and we all are going to miss him. He was the one, who made us laugh. We respect his decision and hope to see him back with her" says Aamir Ali.
Karan Patel quips, "It's sad that he's out but rules are rules. One cannot dance without his baliye. I think he made a right decision. We hope to see him back in the wild card episode."
Rakhi Sawant's beau Abhishek had this to say, "I think they were the strongest contenders. Owing to Shivangi's illness, it's not possible for Shakti to perform alone. I'm noone to comment on his decision but his absence will surely be felt by all."
The above gentlemen seem to be hurt by Shakti's absence. However, in a reality show such compassion and sympathies are only showered to grab votes. However, these men will genuinely like to see Shakti back on the show; as in the later stages they'll prefer competing with an oldie like him rather than a Rakhi.
