Shama Sikander, who kick started her career with Sony's Yeh Meri Life Hai as Pooja, is now all ready for her second innings in Bollywood. After doing some forgettable roles in films, the actress has now bagged a lead role in a flick Dhoom Dhadaka. Shama will be sharing screen space with Sameer Dattani in the film.
"It's a situational comedy between a few characters and I'm playing the female lead. The story revolves around a Don (Anupam Kher), who is searching for an heir apparent for his property. There is a twist in the tale when four strange characters claim themselves to be the owners."
So, will you be comfortable doing comedy? She says, "I'm a very jovial person and love watching comedy films. "
After Yeh Meri…Shama's been lying low for the last few years. "It was a conscious decision as I wanted to stay away from limelight. It's not that I've quit television and will soon be seen in Sahara One's singing reality show. All these years, there was not much for me to do on television as I was not comfortable doing saas-bahu shows," says Shama.
"I always love to learn something new so, it'll be fun to sing with professional singers. Zubin Garg is my partner and is helping me out learning basics of Indian music.
Here's wishing the lovely lady all the best.
