Sonu Sood is one Adonis whom women would love to watch shirtless! His python biceps and six pack abs can make any sane woman go weak on her knees (and all other parts…wink). But cover his body with exquisite formal clothing and the droll factor would only significantly increase. We recently caught up with this brawny actor at Graveria’s shoot of which he is the brand ambassador. And boy! He did look in drop dead handsome in those ‘to-die-for’ suits.
We don’t really get to see you in suits often except on award functions and Graveria’s photo shoot?
(Laughs) Well, yeah. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love formals. Though I am shooting with Graveria for the second time, my association with the brand has been a long one. My dad has a showroom in Punjab where we have been selling Graveria fabrics for the last 30 years. I had never dreamt that one day, I would be the face of the brand. So today my dad feels very proud now to see my picture on Graveria’s hoardings.
How different is the collection this time?
This time we have got in new vibrant richer colours. Last time, the suits were brown and black but this time we have is grey and other colours. The fabrics have also changed as well.
Do you really dig formals?
Yes. Formals are great to get into. You look fit and suave but you have to put an effort to get the look completely. And with a lot of award shows coming up, I better get my wardrobe right (smiles).
One outfit that you can never go wrong with?
Blue denims and white t shirt. Having said that I would also say having a fit body is very important. If you are fit enough, practically anything will look good on you.
If one were to open your closet, what would tumble out?
A lot of denims, lots of v- necked t-shirts, lots of vests and of course lots of gym wear.
Deepika Padukone turned designer recently. You have any such plans?
I would love to design menswear someday. You know I love shopping and exploring new things in garments, observing the new trends that are becoming popular.
Are you a shopaholic?
I am a hardcore shopaholic. I travel around the world and where I get the opportunity to shop, I just splurge.
Who is your ultimate style icon?
David Bechkam. I love the fact that he experiments with different types of garments and still comes out trumps. You will never see him badly dressed.
