If people are jealous of me; it means I am doing a good job: Giaa Maanek

Giaa Maanek
The beautiful Giaa Maanek has entertained us by way of her popular shows like Saath Nibhana Saathiya, the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and SAB TV’s romantic comedy Jeannie Aur Juju. But the cute and chirpy actress seems to have disappeared from the television screens since the last five months. While viewers have been missing her, we ask the lady as to what is she up to these days! “There has not been even one day in these five years of my professional life that I have paid attention to my body, my skin and hair. While Saathiya took most of my energy as I played a highly emotional role of a bahu, Jhalak took the same by way of dance rehearsals for 7 to 8 hours and Jeannie Aur Juju strained me physically when I essayed almost 63 characters in each story. So as of now, I am focusing on meeting my friends, spending quality time with family and pampering myself,” she avers. “I will soon make a comeback on television and am in talks with some production houses right now. I have always maintained doing something different every time. While in Saathiya, Gopi was a complete household character, Jhalak gave me a chance to showcase my potential as a dancer and Jeannie brought out the chirpiness in me,” Giaa adds. Talking about the roles she has been playing on television, she threw some light of her quitting Saathiya when we got candid with her. “Well, it was not that I could not manage doing Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa together. In fact, we had to commit 25 days of working to Saathiya and the remaining five days were left upon what we wanted to do. Jhalak required four days and I could easily incorporate that in my schedule. My reasons of quitting Saathiya were completely different. With regards to me quitting Jeannie Aur Juju, I would not like to bring out the reasons as of now,” she observes. Talking about her career in acting, Giaa goes on to say how she always aspired to be an actor. She also revealed how during her struggling days she faced humiliation when production houses hung up on her. But all’s well that ends well! “The companies get a lot of calls from aspirants and I was no different. And since I had noted the numbers down then in my dairy, I now find the same people calling me for look tests and auditions. I was selected for 7 to 8 shows as a lead for my debut show but all of them were scrapped and when I got selected for a film Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke, Saathiya happened to me,” Giaa reveals. “The industry has its pros and cons. I noticed that initially people were jealous of my acting abilities and tried to dishearten and discourage me. But now I have learnt that I should be happy if people are jealous; it just signifies that I am doing a good job,” she adds. We wish Giaa good luck her future projects and for now, all we can say is ‘Happy Pampering’.
