Kaanchi’s slow start was expected – Subhash Ghai

Subhash Ghai
Subhash Ghai has not exactly been able to set the box-office on fire with his comeback movie, Kaanchi. The movie took a disastrous opening and managed to amass just about 2 crore over the weekend. But Subhash Ghai remains unfazed over the results. “I never expected Kaanchi to take a big start. It was always expected to grow slow and I am okay with the slow initial opening that it has received,” said the acclaimed filmmaker. Another prime reason behind Kaanchi failing to lure in audience could be attributed to the absence of any known faces. Working with rank newcomers, Subhash took a great gamble with his comeback venture. While it looks to have backfired gauging from the box-office collections, Subhash himself is not too troubled. “Let’s give the movie some time to grow. The movie didn’t have big stars for it to receive a big opening. Let’s wait and see what happens this week,” reasoned Subhash. But what if Kaanchi fails to set the cash registers ringing? “Well, if the movie becomes a success we will celebrate and if it doesn’t, no problems. I will continue making films,” said Subhash. As of now, the showman is gearing up to direct Salman Khan soon though he refused to divulge any more information about the same. Well, let’s the Salman-Subhash Ghai jodi is able to recreate some much needed financial box-office magic that both these gentleman need.
