Actor turned Writer Vishal Watwani wants to get back to acting through 'episodics'

Vishal Watwani
Vishal Watwani started his career as an actor, but went on to make a profession out of his passion, which is writing. The young lad who has done noted roles in shows like Kumkum Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Dulhann, Ajeeb is now a successful writer who is aiming to make it big in films too. Having written for shows Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya, Season 1 and Season 2 of Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki, Devyani on Star Pravah, Vishal has also donned the cap of the Creative Producer for Cinematra’s one of the episodics of Savdhan India that he wrote. Talking about his role as writer, the man states, “It is quite demanding to be a writer. I have had a good phase as writer. I have just now joined the writing team of Channel V’s Paanch. I was earlier writing for Doli Armanon Ki. I have now got back to writing Devyani, for which I had taken a break in between.” Ask him whether the actor in him will not appear again, and he states, “I want to get back to acting too. In fact, for the stories I write in Savdhan India, there have been people who have pushed me to do the role too. If I get back to acting, I will love to be back through episodics. Daily soaps are a big ‘No’ for me, as it is tough to concentrate on writing after giving so many hours to acting. The ideal way to return to acting will be to shoot for 3-4 days for episodics, and then get back to writing. I will want to do roles that have enough fire, substance and meat.” Vishal’s story on Savdhan India on a yoga guru happens to be the one to get the maximum ratings this year. “My story for Savdhan is the only story to cross a TVR of 2.0 this year. I have begun writing Paanch now. It is a great feeling to get associated with a youth channel like Channel V. The play out of Paanch is something similar to Devyani on Pravah. The kind of emotions that we deal with are very high in Paanch.” Vishal is presently writing for a film too, and looks forward to an interesting phase as writer. We wish you luck, Vishal!!
