Star Gold provides comic relief in April

Star Gold will celebrate comedy all through the month of April, which will culminate into Comedy Honors - a tribute to Indian comic excellence! These honors will salute the people and the films that have made us laugh over the years. A special advisory panel consisting of comedy stalwarts of the Indian film industry, along with Star Gold will hand pick the honorees in each category. This panel will also pick up the ten all time favorite comedy movies for a worldwide poll by the audience. These movies will be a mix of classics and current favorites. The audiences will vote for their all time favorite greatest comedy movie via sms, tele-voting and internet. Mr. Harsh Rohatgi, General Manager- Content and Programming, Star India Pvt Ltd said, "The Comedy genre has always been a vital part of the Indian film industry and we feel that it's high time it was given its due. We are happy to present Star Gold Comedy Honors to felicitate some of the finest talent and to the genre its rightful place in the industry. This initiative is an endeavor to salute the stars and honor the personalities whose contribution has influenced comedy in Bollywood!" Star Gold will present a laughter riot all the way till the grand finale! Starting Sunday, April 1st, Star Gold Comedy Honors will open with the Curtain Raiser at 12 noon aired simultaneously on Star Gold, Star Plus, Star One and Star Utsav. The channel will also be showcasing a nine-part series of the 101 Greatest Comic Scenes ever! These special one-hour episodes, which will be aired every Saturday and Sunday, are a compilation of the best comedy scenes from the 70's, 80's, 90's all the way till 2006! And to add to the excitement, there's a spread of the all time favorite comedy films, comedy scenes and the best comedians the film industry has produced with the special Interstitials, which will go on air on Star Gold starting April 1st. In addition to this, starting April 2nd (Monday - Friday) at 5 p.m is Super Hit Comedy Movie Mela offering some of the best rib tickling comic films all through the month.
