I want to be in charge of my kitchen and not my husband's production house - Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji
YRF's new bahu Rani Mukerji made a power packed appearance at the trailer launch of Mardaani yesterday. And she sure threw around some of her newly acquired YRF power. Be it ordering the minions around to get a chair for her to sit to chiding a member of the press for talking while she was answering a question, Rani surely showed who's the boss. While Rani was anything but modest yesterday, we get a feeling that she was perhaps being in the skin of her character, the feisty inspector Shivani Rao which could probably explain her aggressive behaviour. While accepting compliments from the crowd for her marriage, Rani made it clear that she is not going to change her surname to Chopra. "My fans know me as Rani Mukerji. May be when I admit my children in school, they will have the Chopra surname. I will remain Rani Mukerji.” When quizzed about how she feels on being married to YRF boss Aditya Chopra, Rani asked her assistants to distribute ladoos immediately, signifying that her happiness knew no bounds. Mardaani marks Rani's return to the silver screen after long. And if the trailer of the movie is anything to go by, YRF looks to have a winner on hand. Rani, whose cop avatar has been modelled on a real life female cop attached to the Mumbai police, said that the movie will showcase the collective might of women, especially female police officers. "We are all descendants of shakti. Through this movie, I hope every woman will awaken their own mardaani." While equations may have changed in Rani's personal life (there is no denying that marrying Aditya Chopra has made her the all powerful female figure in Bollywood today) Rani prefers being the boss of her kitchen rather than being a corporate chieftain of YRF. When we asked her if she would be calling the shots in YRF's production matters, Rani quickly said, " Yes, I have a lot of power and that power is in my kitchen. I have a lot of say and control there and I am sure all women will agree. As far as production house is concerned, we have many capable men in control there with Adi at the helm of affairs. So I would like be in charge of the kitchen rather than the production house." Well, that's a smart move, Rani. After all, a way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
