MUMBAI : Nayanthara is known as Lady Superstar but what really made her that and how was her journey to success? The Netflix documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale’ covers up all of it and even more. The documentary doesn’t just show her career aspect but even her personal life which is something that a lot of fans were excited to see.
However, things took an unpleasant turn when Maari actor Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara for using a 3-sec clip from the movie ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’. While Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathy starred as leads in the movie, it was produced by Dhanush, and directed by Vignesh Sivan (Nayanthara’s now husband).
Nayanthara was surely hurt by this and she expressed her disappointment by posting a public-letter to Dhanush where she mentioned how much the movie mattered to her and how Dhanush ignored her requests to allow her to use clips from that movie. Nayanthara also revealed that Dhanush was not a well-wisher during the premiere of the movie and was bitter about the movie’s success. Nayanthara, in the open-letter, had urged Dhanush to move on from the matter.
While Nayanthara expressed her disappointment for receiving the legal notice only for using 3 seconds of clip which was shot with her own gadget, later that day, Vignesh Sivan posted the 3-sec clip on X (formerly known as Twitter), to show what the matter was about.
The spat has turned bitter now as it seems that Dhanush is not ready to let it slide. The Captain Miller actor has filed a lawsuit against Nayanthara for using the 3-sec clip from the movie without his consent. According to The Hindu, the lawsuit was filed against both Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan. Nayanthara has reportedly been asked to respond to the suit by the next hearing.
It is important to keep in mind that ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ was a special movie for both Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan as this was the time when they met and fell in love.
