Rahul Vaidya is going in for an image makeover. The teenager from suburban Mumbai who ranked immediately after Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana in the <em>Indian Idol</em> rankings this March, now wants to promote himself as a 'looker' as well. "The way to woo women is to have a well toned physique," quips the guy who took a drop from his twelfth standard board exams this year to get the Idols his best shot.

<em>Indian Idol</em> Abhijeet Sawant seems to be omnipresent on Sony. He sang a lovely romantic number Thum Ja in Jassi... and now he is all geared up to be a part of Sony's suspense thriller <em>CID</em>. "It's difficult for me to act. I take a long time for a shot," he sheepishly admits. "But I am indeed lucky to be acting with a senior actor like Shivaji Satam. They are very patient with me and help me with acting," he adds.

Aditi Paul, the <em>Indian Idol</em> finalist who stole millions of hearts with her infectious giggles is back…and has been flooded with offers! Recently, she lent her voice to a romantic number for Sony's <em>Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi</em> along with <em>Indian Idol</em>, Abhijeet Sawant. "Yes, I have sung this beautiful number for <em>Jassi</em>…and the song has been specially composed for this serial by Raju Singh," says Aditi, who has recently shifted base to Mumbai after getting married in Kolkata.

Amit Sana and Rahul Vaidya will sing alongside King Khan this Sunday at the Temptation 2005 event at Bangalore. Sony has permitted the top trio (including Idol Abhijeet Sawant) to take part in the show at Shah Rukh's personal request, say event managers Squarecircle Events. Abhijit Sawant however will not be performing, due to undisclosed reasons.

Jassi, Abhijeet Sawant admit being in love! What are Sony's hottest duo upto? From Bhilai to Mumbai, from being a contestant to ending up as a runner-up. The journey has been tiring, but enriching. Sapana Patil spoke to <em>Indian Idol</em> runner up Amit Sana on life before and after <em>Indian Idol</em>. "I have finally found some time to rest now. There is little pressure. I can wake up when I want to," smiles Amit who had been busy performing at Ponds Femina Miss India 2005, at the launch of Abhijeet Sawant's album <em>Aapka Abhijeet</em> and also at a wedding at the house of Barjatyas of Rajshri Productions.

It will be <em>Indian Idol</em> Abhijeet Sawant's first performance on Thursday evening after winning the coveted title. He will perform live tonight for a select audience at the NCPA in Mumbai. Idol runner-up Amit Sana and finalists Rahul Vaidya and Prajakta Shukre will also sing on the occasion. The icing on the cake will be Sony's latest mascot Jassi in her new looks hosting the event.

These are the youngsters, aspirants with stars in their eyes, who spent quality time with the beleaguered television personality for the last six months. We spoke to a few of them who had interacted with Aman on the sets of <em>Indian Idol</em>.

The lanes of Shahu Nagar, are marked by posters and boards, congratulating Abhijeet and offering him best wishes from the residents. It may be recalled that Abhijeet, in all his interviews has acknowledged the help and support of his friends and neighbours. "I owe it to them," he says.

The look of tension was noticeable on his face, even through his most pleasing thirty-twos, as anchors Aman Verma and Mini Mathur were poised to make the announcement. And they kept the tension going, taking their time before announcing the winner. A million thoughts prayers must have sprinted through his mind. But the exultation that followed when the duo announced his name as the winner was also worth a looksee. Sonu Nigam hugged him, as did Farah Khan, and Anu Malik.
