She has quietly gone from a walk-on part in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan to the male lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor—no less—in Abhinav Kashyap’s <em>Besharam</em>. The story of a con-man in Delhi and his lady-love goes on the floors in March 2013. Understandably excited about the leap of faith from a cameo to a dream-like lead with Ranbir, Pallavi says she is not allowed to talk about her part. But the Australia-born academician-beauty queen confirms she is bagged the coveted role.

For some time we have been hearing that Abhinav Kashyap's next <em>Besharam</em> would have Ranbir Kapoor along with his parents. Having confirmed that both Rishi and Neetu Kapoor have been signed in by the filmmaker, it was surprising to hear that they won't be seen as his parents. Rather, they will portray Haryanvi cops. Neetu will be the loud, aggressive one while Rishi will be her soft-spoken counterpart. According to a source close to the film, Abhinav thought of casting Neetu only later after he was confident that the role would be a meaty one.
