Rani Mukherjee has a close connection with Lady Gaga these days. The young actress Anita Date (seen in Zor Lagake...Haiyya!) plays Rani’s best-friend in <em>Aiyya</em> who is gaga over Lady Gaga. And they all call her Gagabai. Says a source close to the project, “Rani’s character has a completely wacked-out friend named Maina played by newcomer Anita Date. She dresses up like Lady Gaga, listens to her songs and actually believes she is Lady Gaga. So everyone calls her Gagabai.”

Following Katrina Kaif who did a lavani number in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Agneepath and Vidya Balan who danced to a lavani number in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s recently released <em>Ferrari Ki Sawaari</em>, Rani Mukerji has picked up the cudgel and has finished shooting for a <em>lavani</em> number in director Sachin Kundalkar’s <em>Aiyya</em>. The song has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.

2012 can well prove to be a comeback year for Rani Mukerji with films like Reema Kagti's Talaash and Anurag Kashyap’s <em>Aiyya</em> up her sleeve. In the Anurag Kashyap produced film, Rani plays a character who has a strong sense of smell. Her sense of smell is so strong that this quality helps her make some crucial decisions in life.
