Sid Makkar, who rose to fame with Zee's Betiyaan is enjoying his current stint with <em>Mere Apne </em>on 9X. He is essaying the role of Shankar, the youngest son of Kashinath Pandey (Vinod Khanna) in the show. Sid is so fond of Shankar's character that now he wants to be like him in real life as well. "Shankar is the character that is very close to my heart. I would love to be like him in my real life too," says Sid.

In fact, we were supposed to take off on the sixth of this month but had to postpone the date due to some pending details."
